E.M.I.L.Y. “RANDOMIZER” GAME BOARDS

“E.M.I.L.Y. stands for ‘Erin, May & Ivan Love You,’ because the premise of our show is that we only book performers we love! The other premise is that we are the only improv show that randomizes the team order live on stage by playing a game!”

What was supposed to be a quick hosting bit for a monthly improv show soon spiraled into Erin crafting exceedingly complicated pop-up constructions.

“All Hollows’ emily”

Paper mechanic: rotating window

Gameplay: Roll dice to move along game board. If player lands in front of a door, spin the stoop wheel to determine what treat (or trick) they receive.

“MANIFESTING EMILY”

Paper mechanics: visible pull-strip window (life points), waterfall flap (cellphone, briefcase, house)

Gameplay: Roll dice to determine “vision board” selection. Player assesses vision board and allocates “life points” appropriately. Player attempts to choose ideal social, lifestyle, and career cards, within confines imposed by life point allocation. Choices graded against pre-determined scores for each vision board.

“Peeping Emily”

(WARNING: adult content!)

Paper mechanic: flaps

Gameplay: Draw character cards and roll dice to determine which windows players spy into and thus cross off on their bingo card.

“BEACH COP”

Paper mechanic: slits, weights

“THE KENTUCKY D’EMILY”

Paper mechanics: slots, weights, tabs

Gameplay: Draw jockey and horse cards, roll dice to race. “I like this one because it takes the least time to play!” - Co-host May

“ECONOMIC MARKETPLACE INGESTIBLE LARDER YIELDER” (AKA “E.M.I.L.Y.”)

Paper mechanic: paper doll tabs

Gameplay: Draw outfit and gift-for-Granny cards, roll dice to travel across game board and battle monsters.
